Am I thick or just confused.
Posted by salr on January 16, 2008 at 3:13 pmHi all went in for check cysto in December. Ws told reaccurrence in bladder neck – only small. So you think hey ho here we go again. Went in for turbt but they decided they could do it with diathermy – no prob. It wasnt my urologist or his registrar but a general surgeon.
On the day usual problem – cant find vein for anasthesia (why do my veins act like this) so into the wrist it goes. Come round and blood pressure low 70 over something. Then when I sneak a peak at doctors letter says maybe not reaccurrence but something else. Hence I phone my urologists nurse and she says the sugeon found some fluffy bits that all women of child bearing age have. Could they be confused with the lump they found at the previous check. I am just slightly confused now any ideas because it is playing with my head at the moment. I have seen the picture they took and there is a lump there?
Love a very confused fluffy Sally xxx

PediatricianAt the check cysto they found (or said they did)a new growth on the bladder neck (lovely pic taken). From memory, after peeking at my GPs letter it said the ‘fluffy stuff’ was ostreaginsaion of something – if that helps.
They have biopsied the growth so just awaiting results.Sally

T1B G2Well, there-in lies the problem. I have no idea what fluffy stuff is. That’s why I hate it when my colleagues treat patients like idiots and give them simplified explanations that provide no real medical information. No other physician can possibly interpret that nonsense. You need to know exactly what the doctor found, what procedures he did to diagnose and treat, and what additional procedures need to be done to clarify the situation. Insist that your doctor use real medical terms, and have him write them down so you can look them up later, but have him explain them and their significance as well.
Also, I wasn’t at all clear where the lump was – inside the bladder or out. If inside, was it biopsied? And was the fluffy stuff biopsied. If it wasn’t because it’s normal, it must still have an anatomical name. “Fluffy stuff of child bearing women” is not in my medical dictionary.

PediatricianJust waiting for results now. But would the ‘lump’ be confused with fluffy stuf?
Sally
T1B G2Did they do biopsies? That’s where you answer lies.
