Am I the only one?
Maybe TMI for some but am I the only one who gets pain in my bladder when I am menstrating? I don’t know if the uturus swells and puts pressure on my bladder but I sure can feel it. Small spasms and shooting pain when I bend down low.
I can say that I won’t be looking forward to my periods during my next round of BCG. I figure my bladder will be sore enough having 3 courses of treatment and 5 TURB’s.
Also I seem to be starting menopause. I thought I was to young yet ( 45) but as of late, my period is only coming about every 40 days. Can BCG have any effect on peri-menopause or perhaps bladder cancer does? I have not had any chemotype drugs though.

Yes my friend I was thinking if it is a relation between BCG and menstrating ,when I asked my Uro,his answered was I didn’t touch that area I don’t know. is he serious?
but from my experience I think it affect my period since after the treatment it is coming every 3 to 4 months (i was 47).

Oh Thank you Pat. Please let me know what he says. And you are so right, most women are into menopause when DX with BLC.

dx Jan 07This is a toughie…….i’m finding a lot about treating IC with BCG to shorten periods…….which would indicate to me that it does have an effect on the cycle……but since so many of the people with blc are male and the females past menopause…what do you want to bet they haven’t studied it?
