    In early December, Doug had some visible blood in his urine and immediately made a visit to the urologist office; since it had only been 2 months, his doc decided to wait a month for follow-up urinalysis. Immediately, they did test the urine for cancer cells and did a CT scan which showed nothing unusual. After the month, Doug went in for another urinalysis, which showed a trace of blood, so he was scheduled for a cysto this past Thursday. Thankfully, nothing showed up in the cysto. What a relief.

    Here’s my point — always get in to see your urologist at the sight of any visible blood in the urine.

    PS This time I went back with Doug and got to look through the scope; I really didn’t know what I was looking at. Doug’s doc said that he’d never had this request. :)

    Good to hear all worked out and cysto was all clear.

    That is good news, and a big sigh. Did they know were the blood came from?
    My doc puts mine on a monitor also. I do know what I am looking at, and him and I will find things at about the same time. He will let me find the scars from other tumors.

    Good, simple recommendation. Great results. Part of BC awareness (from the ABLCS and the fine ‘been there-done that’ people here) is to understand the symptoms and get them checked. Early BC diagnosis is good. Waiting/denying/disputing the possibility that ‘you have cancer’ is not good.
    My Doc puts the Cysto on a monitor. Right, what the heck am I looking at? HA. Glad he knows! I could also get the images put on a CD. Not the most popular item for your photo archives.
