Has anyone else had problems with a hypersensitive bladder (chronic bulous edema for several years, cannot tolerate either BCG or MMC) which constantly exhibits red, puffy inflammation which looks like CIS but usually turns out to be dysplasia. Very frustrating!! TURBT #7 coming up next week and the urologist getting frustrated and keeps hinting at RC. All cytologies negative but have had 3 positive FISH test, but all biopsies negative. Not ready for RC but worn out from all the cystos and TURBT’s about every 6 months. Positive reinforcement would be welcome, thanks.

    my path guy said this
“Bullous cystitis” is an archaic term for a bladder infection with so much edema between the epithelium and the muscularis propria that it looks like water balloons
i would get thee to an infectious disease specialist.

Wow! I surely don’t blame you for being frustrated!
    What a pain.

On the other hand, it sounds like you don’t have cancer.
    That’s the positive part. :)

Still, having it be a red and inflamed must be a problem because you have to keep getting TURBTs. If it were me, I’m not sure if I’d just be damn glad they keep coming back and saying no cancer or if I’d want it to come back with cancer just to remove the choice about RC and get it over with.

Sorry I can’t cheer you up but I think I kind of understand at least.
