74 yr. old man. 5 weeks out from Bladder removal, prostrate and glands….. Spent 3 weeks in hosp. due to infections. Nothing to eat for 2 1/2 weeks. Had one of my stints retract inside and poked a hole into my stomach. Ct scan showed no leakage and they will remove it in a week . They inserted another one from the back into my kidney. (it’s white and has a little rectangle box at the end). That one they said may have to stay in permanently. The other has not yet worked it’s way out. They will know more at a later date. Q- Has anyone else had anything like that happen? Otherwise just getting used to ostomy bag. I never knew I produced so much fluid. I empty bag at 1/3 to 1/2 about every hour and a half. I guess I better get used to it.

Welcome back to the daily grind, and the chance to get used to your new normal.Following my life-changing accident I spent 17 weeks in the hospital. Fortunately, i guess, I didn’t know about it until the 6th week. Like you, the docs, nurses and countless others worked their magic piecing us back together.

Some stuff worked on the first try. Other times something had to be redone. Neither us not them knew how our bodies would react, accept or reject the repairs they were applying.

Bless them all for keeping at it and getting us back out into the world – even if we still have a bit more that needs to me done.

Welcome back, glad to hear you are still kicking after all your trials.

    Best,
    Jack

p.s. sounds like you are about ready for less liquid or a bigger bag
