I was originally diagnosed in 2013 with my first recurrence this January. I had a TURBT on 02/05 (2 tumors on bladder wall, 1 on bladder neck) with one dose of Mitomycin immediately following. That was 4 weeks ago & I feel worse now than I did then. Terrible lower back pain, recently started urinating blood & clots within the last couple of days & have no energy. Anyone else had similar reactions?

I should mention the day after surgery my face, feet & hands were bright red & hot. Almost like a sunburn. While the redness & heat in my face has gone away, it has remained on my palms & feet. Should I be concerned with these reactions?? I’m a 39 yr old mom. I desperately need to get to feeling better. My family needs me! Any input would be greatly appreciated! Natasha

Thanks Sara Anne. I was indeed having an allergic reaction. They’ve put me on medication to counteract the side effects & am feeling a little better. Thanks again!

Natasha, what does your doctor say about your issues? That is the first place to go for answers in a situation like this. Did you have mitomycin with your first TURB? It almost sounds a bit like an allergic reaction to it.

As for the bleeding, he did remove a few “chunks” of tissue and scabs from this could be causing the bleeding.

If you haven’t checked back in with him, please do so immediately.

Best of luck to you for clearing this up

    Sara Anne
