Strange question about bladder "bubbles"

17 years 6 months ago #1272 by Rosemary
Hey Rosie,

Yes, you are right, the tumour was just underneath the right ureter.
Within the last month, I have had both a scope and a biopsy of the bladder.
I told my doctor the symptoms I was having, so he did all kind of tests on the urine, cultures, etc.
I'm just hoping that if the doc saw a blockage when he was in there that he would have told me.
Years and years ago, I was told that my ovary was stuck to my rectum because of adhesions (scar tissue from previous ovarian surgery)...The doc said that this usually would not affect the bladder.  I do feel a blockage and it feels very strange. I'm just wondering if this is endometriosis because endo CAN affect the bladder. But, I think that endo stops acting up after menopause (?)
And I'm at that stage in life.

Thanks for your kindness and for listening.... :-/

Rosemary, I seem to remember a posting where you stated your tumor was very close to your right ureter. Mine was just outside my left ureter and became so large prior to discovery that it was blocking the opening to the ureter from the kidney. Possibly a blockage was the cause of your "bubbles". Did you feel a kinda "popping out" at the start of urination? If so, it would tend to confirm some interference at the ureter opening carrying urine from the kidney. I have been informed by many urologists that too aggressive of cutting and burning in that area so close to the ureter can cause scaring that could block that opening. If someone has high grade the risk is worth being aggressive but not worth the risk with low grade. Anyway that is what I have been told and why I have had 4 recurrences. Rosie

Rosemary:

Thanks for the info.
I have had the feelings since about 18 mo ago - after the birth of my last daughter. I am 36. At first I thought it was my body just tying to get back to normal - but since it has continued, it has been bothersome and just makes me wonder if everything is "normal".
My doctor had the first test ordered as I mentioned and I see him again next week for follow up and the next step. He mentioned fistula - They just have to determine if there is one and where it is.

My past history only includes a long series of urinary tract infections. Other than that, I don't have much to go off of at the moment. I will keep you posted; please let me know if you have any other findings.

Thanks,
Just curious. My parents were from Alabama in the NE corner, a place called Scottsboro. We are going to my aunt's 90'th birthday in a couple of weeks.
We are taking her a couple of cases of cigarettes for her birthday. We get tobacco cheaper here in NC. She is a heavy smoker, but SHE didn't get bladder cancer, I did. I hate tobacco! Ain't it ironic?
I'm not so good at survey's and it's been quite a while since any one even responded to my "bubbles" post. So, maybe we three can be the survey...
Please keep me posted if you find out any information on your "bubbles" question. This has been going on with me for about 15 years. It's a very strange sensation.

I know what you mean, Lou, you feel a little silly asking a doc about bubbles.

And it is hard to tell where they are coming from.

By the way, are you from Alabama?
