Spastic Bladder?

Alice,

I agree that we seem to have mirrored symptoms. Maybe one or the other of us will get to the bottom of this.

Yesterday, I had to urinate at least 15 times before noon. I don't know what sets this off, but, I noticed that I had the bad pain in my left side and rectum all day. I know you have that pain on the left side, too.

I did ask my OB if a hysterectomy would help that pain in the side, and he said he couldn't guarantee it. He also said that if I have a hysterectomy, he would have to have my Urologist to assist because he has to peel one of the organs away from the bladder. Maybe this other organ is causing pressure to the bladder and causing irritability? All we can do is guess.

Do you ever get the idea that the docs just don't know what to make of our complaints?
They just don't know, and then you get bladder cancer on top of what they don't know and the TURB's don't fix it, so then, you can get really worried.

I've often wondered if it's endometriosis. Endometriosis can attach itself to the bladder. However, endo is supposed to stop after menopause, so, there goes that theory!

Glad you are here to understand. I'm glad I'm not the lone warrior.

Your friend,
Rosemary

Rosemary, just as I clicked on to post, I remembered my doctor saying that he thinks I do have a spastic bladder not going into detail or what I needed to do about it.

You know, I noticed everytime I have been to a doctor and they are ready to make a diagnosis (or they think they are ready anyway), it always starts out with "I THINK." Not very convincing to me.

Rosemary, sometimes I wonder if you and I might happen to be distant relatives. We seem to share alot of the same symptoms. When I went to my O.B. doctor the other day, one of the complaints I had was having to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes. When I got the urge to go, there was no waiting. They did find blood in the urine and also ran some other test in which I have not received reports on yet.

I wish I knew what to tell you, but at this point, all I can do is sympathize with you.

By the way, What the Heck are you doing in heels while you are on vacation anyways :)

Oh my goodness Rosemary, I could just picture you in those sage brush trying to relieve yourself. LOL I carry Johnny on the spot in my car and suitcase just in case I do get caught miles from a "restroom." It is self sealing and easy to use. I also carry a blanket in my car if I need to use the Johnny on the spot in privacy. So far, I have not had to use either but I am prepared just in case.

Hello all,

Should I tell the story of my vacation to Nevada last week where there were no bathrooms for miles and miles of a stretch beyond Hoover Dam on the way to Flagstaff, and, not a tree nor a scrub brush to hide behind? This is your modest Moderator speaking, who is accustomed to rest areas every 25 miles of highway, or at least a sheltering forest to hide myself in case of emergency. It was about 108 degrees outside of the car and me scrambling behind a semi-dune in heels, which had to be kicked off, because of the treacherous ravine gaping below me. My feet were burning, and my hands blistered and bruised from holding to a scrap of sage brush which barely anchored me to the earth. But I finally got my relief, though not a moment too soon and not without a thorn in my britches.

I'm having a bad day of pee-itis today. There is an urgency about every 15 minutes and it lasts about 4 hours. It is always in the mornings and it is always voluminous.

Anybody else have this problem? There are some days when I have no problems at all. I have seen no evidence of blood.

Your very modest Moderator,
Rosemary

PS Who can I share this rather embarrasing situation with if not with you guys? Who can I tell who will understand?
