Hi All,

Let me first say this is a great site. Have been reading for a while, but just never registered.

Little about me:

47 this Friday, diagnosed T1G3 in December. First Uro was horrible.....scope was the most intense pain I had ever had, TUR aftermath was very bad,at follow up, he came in....said "You have cancer, see you in 3 months". We made him come back in and tried to ask questions that he didn't really have time for. He did state, It's superficial, it is not in the muscle.

My wife talked me into getting a 2nd opinion, went to Zion, IL. CTCA, great people. Dr. read report, said, no, this doesn't say it's not in the muscle, it says he had no muscle tissue present. Went through CT's Bone scans etc., everything was great, so sent me to local Uro there. Great Dr., did biopsies in Feb., came back no muscle invasion, but did have CIS, which first Uro never mentioned.
He recommended BCG's in 6 weeks. Due to 4 hr trip, looked local for Uro for BCG's. Found one, doesn't mind taking time to answer questions, very upfront, wonderful Dr.

BCG's went very well, low grade fever night of them, but fine next day.

Had scope on Thursday last week. So much better than first one, just uncomfortable, no major pain. Have 1 small tumor back in same area as first. First was 2.5 cm's. He says this one is in .3 cm area. Other than that , he says my bladder looks "Great". Scheduled for Monday 7-2 for next TUR.

Here are my questions:

Uro in Zion had stated that if any reoccurence after BCG's, he would remove bladder. Now, I didn't take notes either. I am now not sure if he meant Papillary type or CIS.

This Uro has made it very clear that these would come back. He would not ever recommend Bladder removal until there was muscle invasion.

Concerned about different opinions.

I don't think the new Uro is real concerned about this new one. He said if it wasn't in such a hard to reach spot, he would just have lasered it out during scope.

Would like to see what opinions any of you have, because I am concerned about what I should do.

Should also note: Neither are Oncologist - Urologists. We have none in this area.

Really sorry about the long post, tried to get as much info as possible on here.

Thanks in advance.

Bob
