I also live on the east coast of Florida and am being treated at Moffitt in Tampa. I’ve had cystoscopy, TURBT, retrograde pylograms, mytomyicin C infusion, fulguration, and now BCG treatments at Moffitt. I find them to be very good and helpful at answering all of questions and discussing treatment options.

Thank you for your reply Alan. More than likely I will be call my doctor and schedule the turbt. I have a new grandbaby coming the first of August and I really don't want to be worried with this at the same time. Such emotional rollercoaster..I'll let you know the verdict...

Thanks again!

I would NOT wait! Sometime a first tumor is low grade and a 2nd is higher grade. Based upon that a TURB needs to be done with the following pathology. That is me, I am not an expert but, what I have posted rings true. I'd get at the least a second opinion.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Thank you for your reply.:) Yes each turbt were after tumors were found via cysto exam. The BCG treatments were after the 2nd turbt to remove the tumor. I am in the treasure coast area of Florida ( east coast) I'm seriously thinking about calling him and say let's take care of this now. Low grade or not. It weighs very heavy on my mind.
Thank you again for your quick reply

After reading your post, I do have a few questions. You have had multiple TURBs....was this because of recurring tumors? You also mention BCG. Was this after a recurrence? BCG is not usually prescribed for low grade unless it has come back.

If low grade bladder cancer has returned more than once I would be a bit concerned. It may be time to seek a second opinion with a urologist at a center that sees LOTS of bladder cancer patients. If you let us know your geographic location, others may have some suggestions for you. Recurring bladder cancer is not something to fool around with!

Jack has posted a series of excellent sources of the most current thinking and guidelines on treatment of bladder cancer that you might wish to peruse:

Hope this helps a bit

Good morning....I've been reading these boards for months now trying to find an answer...I was diagnosed with bladder cancer March of 2015. Was low grade superficial. Since then have gone through a round of bcg....and 2 more turbts..last one with the chemo wash which was Feb 2017. All clear cysto August 2017..well my lastest cysto in Feb this year showed a small tumor which my doctor said we can wait a few months ...my question is it's on my mind constantly and even though I totally trust my doctor I honestly don't want to wait until August for another cysto...has anyone here ever call the doctor and siad..ok let's get this over with and do another turbt?
Thank you everyone !
