Exsequor,

I think it is great that you have found a medication that reduces your pain. I have my favorite, currently frowned upon medication for the really bad days, I hope most us us have something that helps.

The wonder of a drug is, of course, to be balanced against the 'cost' of using that drug. Does the drug have a negative effect that (can) interferes with daily life ? Does continued use promote some problem ? Only you, the people in your life, and your doctor, together, can make that determination.

I'm so happy that your pain is controlled. I hope you can accept the good news and enjoy the benefit.

Best,
Jack

ALSO: Some more back history.

I was prescribed mild opiod pain medication (long term) in combined with 1mg as needed of XANAX in 2013 when I had my tumor in my right femeral / right buttox. It turned out to be benign, but it wreacked havoc on my nerves / sciatica thus why I was prescribed these drugs.

I am still prescribed a very small dose of opiod pain medication that I take every 1-3 days. I WAS prescribed 1mg XANAX as needed (30 of them a month) since 2014.

The xanax prescribing doctor retired July 25th 2017. I had my first wine colored pee July 26th 2017 or July 27th 2017 (which was right after I had ran out of xanax). At first I thought my urine had mass blood in it because I had quit xanax at that point cold turkey.

Long story short, it turned out to be related to no drugs at all, and was actually a ~2.4cm Urothelial Pappilary Carcinoma.

ANYWAYS, The reason I am saying all this again to you, is that I am more and more thinking that these recent pains I've been describing here are due to my brain, and my funked up GABA receptors. After all, I've been through a lot since July 26th when I had to stop taking XANAX "cold turkey" after taking it for a number of years.

What do you think???

Combine that with the fact that I found an old bottle of my old prescribed XANAX about 5 days ago, took a 1mg xanax, and the pain went away for 1-2 DAYS STRAIGHT, until it eventually began to slowly return. Took another 1mg xanax at that point, and same deal, the pain goes away for 1-2 days straight.

Does this sound like an anxiety problem / deep seated anxiety pain? Also, do you think clinical concern / benefit warrants getting prescribed XANAX again? I prefer not to take drugs that I don't need to take, but this stuff helps me in ways I can't even describe.

Thoughts on this?

They did a contrast cat scan AND non-contrast cat scan back-to-back yesterday.

EVERYTHING looks good from the lung bases, to adrenals, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, you name it, from everything from the Lower Pelvis to the Lung Bases looks great. This will be my fourth WO Contrast CT, second IV Contrast cat scan, and third ultrasound that shows these good results since this all started August 5th.

Obviously a couple of these tests a couple months back showed the tumor in my bladder (which has "long" [in september] been resected). But besides this, these tests have always showed great results.

SO GOOD NEWS, RIGHT?

Only problem is that pain I was referring to has shifted to just under the right nipple / breast bone. In that region.

The fact that everything is coming up fine, and that this pain has been gradually shifting in location entirely over the past couple weeks, COMBINED with the fact that XANAX removes the pain "with the snap of a finger" makes me more and more inclinded to think it is an entirely mental pain. Perhaps due to stress and anxiety that I have conveniently swept under the rug. Either that or it is a ulcer of some sort.

What do you guys think?

"We will wait and see for results." You have answered your own question and I don't mean to be flippant about it. Waiting is always the hardest part of any medical issue. The good news is the problem (if there is one) is getting addressed.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Had two cat scans this morning. One without contrast and one with iodine contrast.

We will wait and see for results.

One interesting thing. I was prescribed xanax for 6 years, and decided to try an old one I had laying around and it CURED the pain for 1-2 days before it came back.

Does this prove is psychological? or could it be physiological?

Had a 1.7x2.4cm bladder cancter tumor (rated pappilary carinoma, non invasive/lowgrade) removed September 12.

Had ureter stents in both ureter for 1 month. Stents weren't as painful as some state, but had some pain. No blood with stents.

Since stents removed I have had pain in what seems like the left and right ureter. It'll be left side pains sometimes, right side pain other times. Some days will have lots of pain off and on. Some days will have none. Anxiety drugs help the pain really well. AZO Bladder analgesic helps pain get 40% better.

I am worried that the cancer has quickly spread to adrenal gland, or perhaps ureter/kidney.
The tumor was growing near opening of right ureter. DR put stent in right side due to "debris" from tumor during resection.

Worried.

Please help.

PS: Getting catscan done with IV soon. Have had three cat scans since august, and one US. All said my kidneys and adrenals looked good and healthy.
