I had a tumor removed from my bladder a year ago. It was benign. The pathology report stated that sections of bladder tissue demonstrate focally disrupted and variably denuded urothelial surfaces; focally prominent von Brunn's nests are seen and that no flat or papillary or definite papillary neoplasia is seen. The Urologist wants me to return for a one year follow-up. I do not want to go through that hideous scope procedure ever again. My question is to what degree has my risk factor for bladder cancer been increased as a result of the identified benign tumor last year
