I do know of a couple of people that have had interfuron with BCG. So it is worth a shot.
DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

My cancer has gone from a CIS to T2 after 6 weeks of BCG now they are saying BCG w interferon does this make the BCG work better or is this a waste of time? also it will be 3 treatments for 3 hours

Interferon is used with or without BCG usually when BCG alone cannot be given or has failed, and mitomycin A has also not been successful. It has not been proven to be better than BCG. It is also a lot more expensive and probably would not be covered by most insurance unless other better options have failed.

If you are not happy with the treatment you are getting, you should go to a major cancer center such as Memorial Sloan Kettering, Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson, etc.

I have read many success stories of BCG with Interferon and more in using just Interferon. My doctor says she doesn't "do" Interferon. Sounds like your Doc suggested it. How does one find out which Docs and which medical centers provide the Interferon treatment?????

Yes, 6 rounds of BCG didn't work I had another tumor which needed to be removed. So I said to my Doctor guess it BCG didn't work, his statement to me was well ot didn't progress So it did work. I then asked so are we going to do more BCG he said no, asked why not he said we will just monitor. I believe he didn't have BCG because of the shortage, he also stated you and I should not be surprised if we find another tumor in three months. Two weeks away from cystoscope and I'm really scared.

But he says this is a nuisane cancer . I got a consulate from Moffitt they suggested mitomycin 6 rounds next time.

Has anyone on the forum had experience with having BCG treatments for 6 weeks and then after a biopsy still having cancer? My doctor is talking about more treatments of BCG but this time mixing it with interferon.
