Hi Diane,
No, I have not got any explanation but I suppose the inflammation is from the Mitomycin treatment I have got. I had also a red spot in my bladder in August. The urologist dismissed it as inflammation at that time and the spot was gone at the next cysto. I finished the treatment in June, but it looks like Mitomycin can cause inflammation for a long time.

Well that is GOOD news!!Hope your CT scan is just as good, and you can put the worries away. Did they give you any indication of what the cause might be if it is not cáncer?

I got the results from the path report today. It was just inflammed scar-tissue. I will have a ct-scan just to rule out something going on in the upper tracts. But, as it looks, good news!

I agree a completely, everyone should be in tune with your body , and act quickly if you feel any change, not just blood in urine.

Had my turb today. Went well. My bladder looked nice, also in blue-light, besides one red area, 1 cm in size, said the uro who performed the turb. He took samples and burned over it with margins. Most likely, it was cancer, as my cytology test four weeks ago showed G2-cells. I have to wait for the path report, but it looks like I will ask for bcg this time. It may be a sign, I was told that my hospital got a delivery of bcg this day! They have been out of bcg AND mitomycin for some time.

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this or not, but here goes.

I was speaking to my Dr at our last visit and he was happy to report that he was moving me to One Year checkups. I was hesitant to do this because I like the visits every six months. I told him I was afraid that that yearly checkups were too far spaced out.

He assured me that one year was fine. BUT..... "You must be aware of your body."
"There are two kinds of cancer..... The turtle and the squirrel." Turtle cancers are slow growing and give you a long long lead time and can have a slower response time for treatment.
The Squirrel is bc...... very fast moving and skips all over the place and must be attacked early on. Even Six month checkups are too far away from each other.
"YOU must be vigilent!" Even a small amount of change.... call your Dr.

Nicke, you did the right thing. As soon as you see any sign (blood in your urine) call the Dr.

This bc thing is a trick little creature and just one cell can wreak havoc. Be careful...... AND... ALways go to the Dr if you have a concern.
