We all heal a bit differently.. If you are on three-month cystoscopies, he will be looking at it again fairly soon. IF it still looks irritated, you might discuss whether he feels it would be a good idea to biopsy the area. He probably has a pretty good idea of whether it should be done.

I had BCG and my bladder looked like @!#$!@#$ for quite a while!

Hi All,

I had a follow up cystoscopy today 2 months after my first surgery - originally I was supposed to wait another month but had some bleeding a month ago so they moved up the appointment. Everything looked fine which is good, but the area where the tumor was removed was still red/still in the healing process. Definitely looked gross on the TV screen, ha. Doctor said sometimes it takes longer for the area to heal with mitomycin (I had 1 treatment right after surgery, but no subsequent chemo washes).

Has anyone else had this where it visually takes a long time for the bladder to heal and the area still looks weird on subsequent cystoscopes? Any thoughts?

For reference, I'm 25 years old female who had a non invasive papillary tumor.

Thanks!
