Oh yes, BCG does do a number on your bladder!! The whole point is to stir up the immune system, particularly in the lining of the bladder, site of the cancer. Several times during the BCG maintenance sequence, my treatment had to be delayed due to the irritated state of my bladder. BUT that does mean the stuff is working!!

Joey, I forgot to mention that it took two years after BCG for my bladder to heal. Between all the biopsies and 24 BCG, my bladder was shot. I am happy to say that last August, my 6 year check, it was finally back. (I also had BCG 100o/o). So maybe a little more time yours will also heal.

Glad things are looking positive for you in terms of any cancer. Your bladder is scarred from BCG? Why is that? It's only a liquid.
I had a kidney to bladder stent after a TURBT due to the location of the tumor, precautionary measures. It was HORRIBLE!! That 10" tube was pure misery for 7 days before removal. I still have it in a plastic bag as a reminder. I remember going to the beach the next day, only able to painfully wander in the water ankle deep, and pissing down my leg. More power to those who have fared better with a stent.

As an update, prior to the ureter scope the doctor advised the thickness in the wall was very subtle and if he did not see anything that concerned him he would not biopsy same.

when I discussed with the DR. during my recovery he advised nothing concerned him and he did not take a biopsy. Said my bladder is very scarred from the BCG and past biopsies bu the ureter looks fine.

He did take a ureter cytology and we are waiting on the results. His guess is we should not see any cancer cells as the cytology results from the bladder cytology just 2 weeks ago was negative for cancer cells. This would make sense as the cells from the ureter would have to drop into the bladder for removal.

Had a stent for 4 days and had same removed today. So all is good and just waiting on cytology.

I haven't been checking many posts lately, and I missed this one Joey. I am so sorry you have to go thru this concern, but since all the other tests came back "clear" of bladder cancer, I am going to keep positive thoughts coming your way!
