I am currently at the University of Michigan Cancer Center...one of the top hospitals in the country! I get the feeling that he gives me what is needed so as not to 'worry' me...i should say, what 'he' feels is needed. I just want to know it ALL...i have an appt with him in April and I will be armed with written questions and won't leave without answers! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Gina, BCG makes your body fight the cancer. If you go to the top of this page and click on the help button you will find a lot of info and answers to the questions you just asked. Another big deal on here is that we push for a second opinion. If your doctor will not explain stuff, than you need to get second opinion with a doctor that specializes in bladder cancer.

G3 is the grade-high grade. T1 means it has not invaded the muscle layer-which would be T2.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

What does G3 mean? I know my tumor was a T1 high grade..what am I missing? Also, BCG makes the cancer 'disappear' right? at least for a short time....what is the success rate of BCG treatments? My doctor has told me very little and I haven't even thought about it not being successful...I am totally ill prepared this time around...
