Getting checked

Hi Gary... since your appointment is on Thursday, perhaps you could call his office and ask if they will be giving you something there before the procedure? Or if there is something they might prescribe that you could take prior to leaving for the appointment. Just tell them you're really nervous about having it in the office and ask if a relaxant such as Ativan, valium, etc. might help.

But I agree with your thinking... get them out as soon as possible!

Be thinking of you on Thursday!

Best wishes... Catherine

I had a lung infection a few weeks ago and was on antibiotics, so they were afraid to put me to sleep in the hospital. They didn't want to cause any problems with my lungs, so they wanted to wait for them to heal some more.

The tumors didn't look that big, but they are all in the same area. That might be the problem.
He wanted to do it the other day when we found them. He didn't say a thing about any medications or numbing stuff. But he did say if it hurt to much he would stop and we would do it later at the hospital. Hummmmmmmmm!!!!

Re: TURB in doctor's office. I've posted elsewhere about this, but will repeat. I had it done the second time around, and it didn't bother me at all. I do think i had something "relaxing" ahead of time in the way of medication, and certainly there was local anesthetic instilled. I had two very teeny tumors removed. No pain during the procedure, and little after. (The first time I had it done under light general anesthesia in the hospital.) I don't quite understand why the hospital would make you wait 2 months, but if i were you I'd opt for Dr.'s office if the tumors are small, just to get it over with sooner.

Best of luck! (And maybe after you're healed get some maintenance doses of BCG.)

I'm into one of those jugs now, just thinking about it. You sure like to make things interesting. Good luck.

I didn't want to, but I really don't want to what 2 months. As far as I know there will be no meds, but I got a big bottle of rum if that will help!!
