I was always told to hold it for 1 hour. Why 3 hours?

Got the go-ahead to resume BCG, and will finish up #3 of the maintenance treatments next week. That's a plus since it seems to have been working for the BC. Interesting, I have never been able to hold it in there 3 hr before. Is that good?

UPDATE! Got a sneak preview of my blood counts (since being on the other medication). The WBC has actually risen back into a 'normal' range. So now I would like to contact the Uro to see if he would like to continue the BCG maintenance treatment. Anything that will help deter B-C would be welcome. Sure a lot of commotion lately dealing with three different cancers. Wish me luck trying to give BC another kick in the ass, and more future positive reports.

Right on time for the early morning dose of BCG. But first, a consultation regarding the above mentioned dilemma.
Urologist reccomedation: Stop the BCG. My current condition would pose an "at risk" factor of creating an infectious problem by receiving the live BCG virus. Why take the chance. I'm well impressed with his expertise, and getting me to a cancer free state today. But, dammit, I want my BCG!!!! It's working, kicking a$$. This is the pits, dealing with 2 diseases, and one won't let you treat the other. But beware, you damn little germs .... push someone in a corner and they are going to come out fighting.

A doctor doing infectious (I can't make this spell!) diseases probably could shed some light in consultation with your URO. You are certainly dealing with more than your fair share!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Interesting. I spotted a link to Dr. Lamm's website that someone had provided on another post. So used it.

question sent: Is there any supporting evidence that a person with 'immune deficiency' should, or should not, receive BCG Treatment?
Thank you.

answer: Yes. I do not have references handy, but BCG can cause serious infection in the immuno-suppressed. It can be, and has been used in organ transplant recipients, but is not my first choice.
