What is your doctor suggesting? Mytamiacin or BCG or nothing? Have you had a second opinion with a doctor who specializes in bladder cancer? With your young age, I can understand your concern. Doug was diagnosed at age 44 and is doing fine at 56; he has had surgery 6 times, the last one being almost 5 years ago...so there is hope. Talk with your doctor and voice your concerns!

Best wishes,
Anita (Doug's wife)

PS Eat lots of cruciferous vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower). Not sure they actually help but they can't hurt.

It never hurts to lead a healthy life style and eat a good diet. HOWEVER, we need to remember that while smoking has been shown to be linked to bladder cancer, we do not know most of the causes. And, contrary to advertising we see there is no "magic" potion or vitamin to "cure" cancer.

Whatever caused and started the tumor growth happened years ago. Cancer develops very slowly as one cell changes and then others follow. Something years ago caused the tissues in the lining of your bladder to develop tumors. If we just knew what that was!!!

Good luck to you.

I've just had my second non-invasive tumor removed in 13 months. Although, I am told I should consider myself lucky that this is the "good" cancer to have, I still feel helpless. I'm in my early 30's and a non-smoker. Surely - there must be something out there that we can do to help decrease the odds of recurrence. Any suggestions?
