Diane, the "path" at my uro's office leads, first, for a urine collection. It is ALWAYS done. He said that if he had done the cystoscopy when I had a UTI my bladder would look like CIS. The urine sample is also sent out for cytology. Of course it is always done before BCG.

Grrrr! Don·t you just hate it when you·ve got yourself all prepared and then you have to wait again. Just out of interest, I presume they picked it up by doing a urine check prior to the cystoscopy - I·ve never had that done . Is it standard practice over there to do one?

Well "something" on a "something" cracker! (borrowed from George) So sorry Sara Anne. I know the tension of an approaching appointment day grows by the hour, and it's disappointing to have to start the clock over. Hope things clear up very soon and you're back telling us good news.

I don't have a six-month check this time since he moved me out to 12-months last visit. I have been going back in April the past two years sooo... just to soothe my nerves, I had my GP send in a cytology request for me last week while I was in for a regular appointment. He called last night to say it came back normal. That makes me feel better about being "neglected" this cycle.

Went in for my 6-mos. checkup this morning...somewhat nervous, as usual. Turns out I have a UTI and so no cystoscopy! They are doing a culture and will prescribe the "appropriate" antibiotic when the results come back in. They asked if I felt as if I had one...no...but have been feeling not-quite-so-good. Of course, now I REALLY feel it (psychosomatic?) So no cystoscopy for about two weeks.

BTW, I told Dr. Janoff all about Mike. His comment? "EXPLETIVE...that is NOT supposed to happen!"
