I don't know much about BCG but I wanted to also chime in and let you know that you DID NOT FAIL !!!!!!
I am surprised the staff didn't let you know how well you did.

If Mike couldn't go the full time ..... Then you know You didn't fail.

I agree with Mike. I'm still on full dose BCG maintance every 6 months. Sometimes I can hold it for 2hrs, and sometimes I can't. I think Dr. Lamm says a half hour may be an adequate time to hold the BCG. Let your doctor know how it went at your next appointment and don't worry about not making 2 hours. If the side effects become to troublesome they can always reduce the dosage and/or prescribe some medication to lessen the effects.

You didn't fail! The BCG is doing its job. I couldn't hold it for two hours either. Be sure to use the bleach and take care of things at home and not risk a public restroom.

If the BCG was causing lots of pain then it was creating an immune response. That's the whole point. Make the bladder angry and the body works to battle the cancer in the bladder.

Hang in there. Not everyone can hold it that long. As long as it is doing its job, so are you!

Today was my 1st bcg treatment and I couldn't hold it for 2 hours. I did it for one hour but the pain was too much I had to void. I tried to only go a little but I couldn't stop it. I feel like I somehow failed.
