As it turns out, I am getting checked out in other ways, mostly because of the way the BC was found. As I lay on the gurney to go into the OR, the anesthesiologist said I had a funky EKG. So off to the cardiologist I went. Had the stress today, will get results sometime soon. And I have had some digestive disorders, preceding the BC episode, so the gastroenterologist said I should start with a colonoscopy. But before I can have that, I need the results of the stress test. I'm a convoluted medical tangle. I didn't used to be this way...

Net result is that I'm going to try to compartmentalize the BC away until the checkup 2.5 months from now. I think that's the best course of action.

Thanks to all of you for your kind support and advice. I really appreciate it.

Mike, re your comment about not looking under the bed at night- I found a good solution to that one and it works-
Cut the legs off the bed

jswim,

By the way, after two years you should still get checked. You just change the schedule to every six months and then every year.

jswim,

Some urologists don't have the blue light or whatever. If yours does, then that will be what he/she uses. If not, you can shop around. It has shown better results but it takes time for doctors to upgrade their equipment.

Your second paragraph causes me pause.
You're just going to have to get over that one. You are right that paranoid people are the ones that start thinking that so just don't be one of those people. You got some bladder cancer. Get it treated. There is no conspiracy by your body sneaking around doing weird things. If you are worried about your inner workings, go get a one of those Deeeelux physicals where they check everything out. Blood tests, treadmill, colonoscopy, etc.

OK. So I say this kind of tongue in cheek but a little bit not. You are the one that brought up the paranoid stuff.... :)

You'll be fine. Just don't look under the bed at night. :woohoo: :woohoo:

To answer your question directly, Mike may be able to find the PDF file/chart somewhere on %'s for re-occurence and progression. I had it bookmarked but the site has been deleted. It graded the probabilty based upon grade (low grade if I remember correrctly actually has a slightly higher chance of coming back but lower odds of progression),the stage (1-4), number of tumors and size of any tumor. The important thing is if caught early like all cancers it is more treatable. Also, I wouldn't get to hung up on %'s anyway anyway as our bodies respond differently. By the fact yours is low grade and it hasn't hit stage 2,3 or 4 you will probably just have the nuisance of regular checks. My tumor was high grade but TA (just started}. I am 4 1/2 years out and actually have a checkup tomorsrow. As the others have posted, this is a beatable cancer.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.
