Hi
Just an update finally got scan results which said 'highly suggestive of epididymitis' probably caused by catheterisation during BCG treatment. So at least that's sort of good news. Another scan in 8 weeks just to check it has settled down and that should be it hopefully.

Thanks
Claire

Thanks Anita and Bobbi, he has not got a fever at the moment although seems to get cold much quicker now but straight after the installations of bCG he always has a very high fever and then chills for about 24 hours.

Bobbi, with his induction BCG he had conjunctivitis and also with his first maintenance round, with induction his ankle and foot also swelled up badly.

He has had the initial 6 BCG then 2 maintenance rounds and it doesn't look like he will be able to take anymore, we have also been told that because of the shortage he wouldnt be receiving anymore for a while anyway as he has been clear for a year. So it is all very scary really I just hate seeing him so ill, he really is not himself at all.

I don't know if this will help - but in 2008 I was on my 4th treatment of BCG and woke up one morning and my eyes were all swollen shut and felt like I had sandpaper in them. Then my joints starting swelling, we came to the conclusion that I was having a reaction to BCG and I never finished my treatments. I did go to a Rheumatologist and was treated and I have remained cancer free since. Keep on your doctor to get some answers!
God Bless Bobbi

Claire,
Doug ran a fever for over a month when he had a BCG infection. Is your husband running a fever? Hope you can get some answers sooner than September. Prayers are with you.

Thanks Mike,
We are in the UK so don't have a urologist as such but our BCG specialist nurse told us to see our family doctor who sent him for the scan and prescribed cipro. We won't see our consultant at the hospital until his next appointment in September.
