Stacey,
I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you have "pain"...? Are you describing the burning feeling or is it more like a spasm?
Anyway, yes, there is such a thing as "honeymoon cystitis". I actually was prone to this and got a good dose of cystitis on my own honeymoon. It was quite a fright to see myself peeing pure blood in the toilet.
Unfortunately, though bubble baths are very comforting, you are correct in making an assessment of bubble baths as a possible cause of irritative symptoms.
About 20 years ago, I kept having the burning urination, and itching, etc. I was sure that I had a bad vaginal infection, or cystitis. I was treating myself to a tea tree oil vaginal flush. It wasn't getting better, so when I went to the gynocologist, he took a vaginal specimen, and he said "You've got no bacteria at all in there!". He was quite astonished. Anyway, he said that I would have to go without underwear for awhile and try to figure out what it was that I was allergic to in my environment. It could be washing powder or fabric softener or something like that.
I did find that using non-scented, aloe-vera, Vitamin E enriched toilet paper helped with my symptoms tremendously.
I am faring pretty well, (considering everything). Thanks for asking. ... Our historic town is all a-sprinkle with the most gorgeous and multi colored wildflowers. I keep expecting to see the Easter Bunny, tied in pink ribbon, peeking at me from behind a toadstool.
Good luck with your tests.
Your friend,
Rosemary
