Stacey.....well the term "honeymoon cystitis"..is real. I had it but that really was when i was first married. Since you've had something going on since the age of 6 i can see why they are trying to rule out everything. But you may be one of those people who is allergic to anything with perfume in it..including laundry detergent..tpaper...try buying all fragrence free stuff for a while and take showers not bubble baths...and watch the soaps also. I also have a latex allergy ... that can be a real culprit if you're using that form of birth control. Always wear panties that have a cotton insert....no thongs.
Are you on any pyridium at present? That should control burning and if not its definately something else.
And you can always try the marshmallow root tea for inflammation if it doesn't interfere with any antibiotics you may be taking.
Just thoughts.........Pat

I hope this helps the last round of BCK/interferon I had so much tissue and stuff in my urine it made it cloudy. I would put in ajar the material would setle to the botom. the urine would then be clear. No other issues with urin. this started after the 2 treatment. By the way after I had 4 treatments . I started to clear up. Then the resection and no cancer found. First 3 month checkup this last week still clean. Hope it goes as well for you. My Docter thought nothing of the stuff in urine. No big deal to him. Now it is clear as before the BCG. Don

Okay,

Sorry.  Something just doesn't seem to be computing to me, when you say that you are burning at the bottom, but they are looking for something wrong at the top?   And there is nothing being picked up by the urine in between?    When you say "in your bladder" , do you mean just around the opening when the urine is streaming out?  Did the Docs find any bacteria in your urine?  Any red blood cells?  Anything?

I'm having burning on urination right now.  I was scared last week when the Urologist came in and looked at me funny.  He said,  "You have a lot of skin cells in your Urine."  (I was scared it was blood).

I also feel it a little difficult to get a urine stream going sometimes.  The gyno says that my uterus is enlarged and he is doing an ultrasound next week.  How long has it been since you had the baby?

I'm guessing that for me,  the burning in my bladder and private part must be from my TP allergy, but am also a little mystified about the skin cells.:-/  I told the Uro that I was burning on urination, but he did not seem alarmed.  He said there was no bacteria.  The gyno also checked for vaginal bacteria, but there was none at all since being on the Flagyl the week before.

Try not to worry too much.  I know it's hard till you get the tests behind you.

Rosemary

Rosemary I mean burning, stinging, feeling like incomplete urination.
I sure didnt seem to have it this bad even before the tur.
the only symptom I had was blood in urine mostly unless your counting a year back when I was pg and had urine infections repeatedly and back then a dr mentioned maybe kidney stones but dismissed it all when the infection cleared. my urine always had blood in it for the past few months is why they did the xray and cystoscopy.
but I've had a long history of infections from age 6 and onward. I used to get vomiting sick now this is kind of different,it just feels like burning in my bladder and private part.

Stacey,

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you have "pain"...?  Are you describing the burning feeling or is it more like a spasm?

Anyway, yes, there is such a thing as "honeymoon cystitis".  I actually was prone to this and got a good dose of cystitis on my own honeymoon.  It was quite a fright to see myself peeing pure blood in the toilet.

Unfortunately, though bubble baths are very comforting, you are correct in making an assessment of bubble baths as a possible cause of irritative symptoms.

About 20 years ago, I kept having the burning urination, and itching, etc.  I was sure that I had a bad vaginal infection, or cystitis.  I was treating myself to a tea tree oil vaginal flush.  It wasn't getting better, so when I went to the gynocologist, he took a vaginal specimen, and he said "You've got no bacteria at all in there!".  He was quite astonished.  Anyway, he said that I would have to go without underwear for awhile and try to figure out what it was that I was allergic to in my environment.  It could be washing powder or fabric softener or something like that.

I did find that using non-scented, aloe-vera, Vitamin E enriched toilet paper helped with my symptoms tremendously.

I am faring pretty well, (considering everything).  Thanks for asking.  ...  Our historic town is all a-sprinkle with the most gorgeous and multi colored wildflowers.  I keep expecting to see the Easter Bunny, tied in pink ribbon, peeking at me from behind a toadstool.

Good luck with your tests.

Your friend,
Rosemary
