Thanks Mark, I am not going to make any rash decisions, that is why I am glad I found this web site and posted. I really want to weigh all my options, talking to others including the Oncologist, then decide which path to follow!

Tabio,

First off, Welcome:

I hear what you are saying, and I respect you'r decision, but I think you should wait on making that choice until you have had sometime to think about it and considered the options.

I have not (By the grace of God) been put in this situation. But I really think you should at least hear from some of our group who have gone through it. They are a great bunch of people trying to get through all of this just like you and I.

Please give us some time to respond to your posting, and maybe we can help you make an informed decision.

Mark

bladder, prostrate cancer was created by tabio
Two years ago I was operated for cancer of the bladder, I did my follow up as suggested and a year ago given a clean slate. A month ago I started to urinate blood with any kind of exercise and or travel. I contacted my doctor and was again informed I had now, not only bladder, but prostrate cancer as well. Again we did the surgery. Now the urologist is trying to talk me into having my bladder and prostrate removed, my primary physician has not only seconded that, but has advised me how miserable of a death it will be if I don't do it. I have scheduled an appointment with an Oncologist next week, but I would like to hear from people, and or their families that either have had the surgery done, and or decided not to do it. Please give me some idea of what we are looking forward too.
In closing I am two months shy of 69, I have faith in my lord and savior, and really kind of moving away from the surgery as I have had a great life, used my fair share of resources, and frankly don't want to live to to be a burden on my family either way.
Thank you
Tabio
