HLamb,

Doug had a few mitmyicin C treatments. I'm checking back in my book and my notes state that Doug had visible blood in his urine for at least 3 weeks and pain with urination. This was back in 2007. After that, the doctor did not recommend any further mitomyicin C treatments. The pain did go away. Hang in there and take the pyridium to help calm down the bladder. I hope you will feel better soon.

Mitomyicin Question. Having a problem was created by HLamb88937
The BCG worked great for me. Yes there was blood and urgency problems, but all in all I centainly could tolerate it. Then I got Reiders sydrome know as reactive arthritis from my immune system's reaction. What a pain...literally. So for maintenance the doctor decided to switch me to mitomyicin C, which is supposed to have very little reaction. Well I got my first instillation today. I followed the directions by not drinking water for 12 hours and taking a lot of baking soda to raise my urine PH. Now the problem... It really bothers me. My urgency to urinate is double BCG. I already have some blood. My bladder hurts and it never did with BCG. I have read the literature that says that that is pretty common with mitomyicin and should pass when treatment stops, but then I have read that a lot of people never get over the bladder pain and urgency to urinate after Mitomyicin. Its as if the mitomyicin did permanent damage.So... do any of you have experience with mitomyicin? I would prefer the arthritis over what I am going through now. Comments?
