Just \"diagnosed\" yesterday - 37 and very scared

Hi you guys! Well I took your advice and went to the ER! My belly was swelling up and come to find out I had a hole in my bladder from the surgery. I have urine in my abdomen and now they have placed a cath. The doctors want me to do a wait and watch kind of thing to see if it will heal or I may end up in emergency surgery. I haven't had anything to eat or drink in 48 hours and I could eat a bear at this point, lol. I am on antibiotics and a whole mess of other things. I had a complete meltdown last night knowing my other organs had been exposed to the tumor cells. The doctors felt so sorry for me they rushed things and I did find out my tumor was a complete fatty tumor which they said they have rarely ever seen in the bladder. Either way I am so thankful and praise God for that. I am in a lot of pain and taking it one step at a time.

Mel,
I've only been dealing with this for a few months but what you are going through does not sound right...I'm with Mike and Cynthia, get to the ER. I really hope they can help you and soon! Warren

I have called the doctor twice and they won't give me anything more. The muscle relaxers my dad gave to me. The first time they sent me to the ER because I was retaining and have to have a cath but they took that out Friday morning. My urine is clear as water but I am not sure if my stomach is so sore from being in such bad spasms for so long or what. It was so bad last night I almost called an ambulance. I am going back in the morning to give another urine sample and I will talk to them then I guess unless it gets so bad again tonight. My dad took me back in Friday night but they just checked to see if I was retaining and said no so they sent me home. Sometimes I wish people who worked in that field could really understand the pain associated with it and they might just not mess around so much and get busy fixing people the right way. I am not sure how deep my tumor was so that may be the problem too.

Hi Mel - Have you been in contact w/ the doctor to see if there is something better she can give you? They told me to call if I experienced spasms, a lot of bleeding and/or severe pains...the nurse had told me on Thursday that they had a lot of things they can give for these types of post-op symptoms, but it sounds like you're already taking some of them?

Are you close to Chicago? I went to University of Chicago Medical Center and they were really good.

Melly, Either call your doctor or go to the ER! If you are taking that much medication and are in that sort of pain you need to be checked out. Please let us know what you find out.
