Mike, I also had BCG that didn't work for me. The only side effects i had was flu like. All i would like to tell you is to go the extra mile with the Bcg. The other options will still be there, but I hope you won't need them.

Update #3 - had 4th BCG two days ago. The last two BCGs have produced more pronounced side effects - mainly lots of blood in the urine for approx. 8 hrs, starting approx. 4 hrs. after each treatment (then it clears up). A dull ache in the urinary tract and testicles is also noted. I also have felt like I'm coming down with something, with minor chills and a low fever (99), about the same duration as the bloody urine. My uro says that's a good sign the BCG is working - looks like Mssr. Calmette and Mademoseille Guerin are ripping me a new bladder! (:<) Two days after each treatment, I feel great - no more after-effects, other than quick and strong urge to urinate. Two treatments to go!!!

Hi Mike. Good luck with #3. Procedure is a breeze, other effects are touch & go per person. Doc even gave me a pill to help with bladder incontinency (frequency), which helped. Drinking beer DIDN'T help!!I just graduated from BCG yesterday. Mine too will be 6 weeks for the next scope.
