Thanks for the imput guys. I tend to agree that eating right sure won't hurt you , and eating wrong can. But that said I believe in the power of the right medicine. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about new studies being done.
I think if the fda takes over the whole vitiman thing ,stuff will really change . Rocky

The reading on natural cures and foods that can improve our health is very interesting. I do take several of the more basic supplements; Omega-3, D-3, CoQ-10, and a general multivitamin.

That being said, if I receive an email or solicitation about diet or vitamins, I look to see who profits from it. If it's the person recommending it, it immediately gets deleted. I used to read Dr. Weil frequently but after I learned that if you inquire about vitamins on his website, you get LOTS of solicitations to buy his vitamins. I don't go there anymore.

As others pointed out, it is your health at stake. All we can do is to perform due diligence in our information gathering and make the best decisions based on that. Bladder cancer is a highly specialized field and the opinion of a top expert in that discipline should be given the utmost consideration. Remember that nothing has been definitively proven about diet or supplementation being a natural cure for BC.

Best wishes... Catherine

Until I got my neobladder, I hadn't seen a hospital since 1962.

Chances are diet won't hurt in addition, but it certainly is no substitute for real medical care.

If your friend is wrong - you die. Don't know about you, but I don't have a friend good enough to throw away my life.

The old "everything is moderation, nothing to excess" makes most sense to me.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Rocky, hope you don't mind me giving my two cents also. To me this whole topic of cause is very interesting. As far as taking your friends advice, who's bladder is at risk? If you do take the advice and go with diet, and things go very bad how are you and your friend going to feel? It's a very slippery slope. As for the never any colds, flu, or other illnesses, I read an article on that subject when i had my first cancer. It pointed to a study that said people who never got colds, etc, were more likely to have cancer. Very interesting to me, cause i grew up on a farm and before having bone cancer at 45yrs of age i had never had a cold, or flu. If you think about it, a lot of cancers are from your immune system over attacking something. Maybe the same reason we don't get colds. It's something we don't know much about yet. I have talked to doctors a little bit about this subject, and they almost always say the same thing, "as doctors, we are so busy trying to cure cancer, we have no time to study the why". Still then and now I am surprised there is not a standard form to fill out that goes to a national databank for all cancer patients.
