Congratulations on the all clear. I'm sure it will be an adjustment getting used to the 6months, but what a grand step to be able to take.

Thanks Patricia and Mike
Pat, I still have some "nerve spasms" but with great improvement. After 24 BCG Treatments, I think my Bladder has had enough. My last three were reduced 30% - to 15% and last one 10%. It was after the 10% all went south. (I felt fine between the 15% and the 10%)
Dr Sexton doesn't think I can take anymore, and I am hoping 24 doses got rid of the cancer (I told Mike from now on, I wouldn't give cancer any proper size print
Three months shy of three years without a re-occurence, the CIS appreared once - so maybe luck will help!

Great Nancy......
Tell him to try the BCG with Ofloxacin
The use of ofloxacin significantly decreased the incidence of
class 2 or higher AEs (moderate or severe) between instillations four and
six. With ofloxacin the percentage of class 3 AEs was also significantly
decreased between instillations one and nine. Although ofloxacin reduced AEs
involving the lower urinary tract, it did not prevent class 1 AEs.
Compliance to full BCG treatment was also improved. Ofloxacin did not appear
to impair the efficacy of BCG during 12 mo after treatment. The use of
prophylactic ofloxacin 200 mg given twice after BCG instillations appears to
be a simple and practical method of improving BCG tolerability yet
maintaining efficacy.
Worth a try..along with maybe a lower dose?

I had my 2 year 9 month Cysto - all clear
Doctor is now moving me to 6 month check-ups. He extended the three month cystos since my bladder had such a bad reaction on my last BCG - 5/31/09. I guess I am happy I can go six months, but so used to three month cystos since 2006, have to get my mind set for 6 month cycle.
