Vi, I didn't know you actually saw Dr.Wilson. Last i heard your insurance would not cover it.
You're the first case i know of with a papillary tumor who has not had a TURB under anesthesia with part of the inner muscle taken for pathology. i can't imagine having this done awake???
TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF THE BLADDER (TURB)

People with stage 0 or I bladder cancer can be treated with transurethral resection of the bladder (TURB). This surgical procedure is performed under general or spinal anesthesia. A cutting instrument is inserted through the urethra to remove the bladder tumor.

Pat,

I was not put under, but Dr. Wilson at UCCC agreed when he said his biopsy showed it to be non invasive. She also sent my slides to her pathologist and I just got a $400.00 bill from them (since my insurance did not cover) and they agreed with the dx.

I think I need to trust Dr Wilson who you suggested I see when she says he is doing what needs to be done.

Are you thinking something different?

Vi, I was returning to Portland from Russia via Frankfort on Lufthansa. Had to change planes in Denver. At least I THINK I was in Denver....so tired after over 30 hours of travel that I don't remember much about Denver!! Got on the plane for Portland and the next thing I knew was when they announced that we were landing in Portland. Still haven't completely "re-entered."

No i'm actually asking if you have undergone anesthesia in a hospital setting for a transurethral resection of the tumor where the uro actually takes part of the first layer of muscle for biopsy.

George and Sara Anne,
Thanks for your replies. I do feel like I've bounced back better this time and am ready to wait for the next check. I will always make sure to stay on top of this.

Sara: You probably passed by daughter as she was at the airport as well. What brought you to Denver? Are you here often?

Pat,
I assume you are asking if he has gotten a sample that could be sent in for a pathology report. He has done that and am waiting for the new pathology report before deciding on any treatment. Each of my tumors have be millimeter size.
