Yeah its true it builds bone density (beer)..Its my answer to Boniva and any of the other drugs with a zillion side effects. I have to take the drug Femara for ..ugh ..5 yrs and one of the side effects ..among many...is loss of bone density.......so makes sense to drink a beer..plus its blood thinning which is also one of the side effects of Femara(blood clots)...How could i go wrong? I don't want to take the stupid drug at all...see thats what happens when you have a degree in pharmacology. You don't want to take anything!!
Chocolate relaxes the blood vessels...so thats good.
I'm sure Pizza must have some beneficial effects...yeah..the tomato sauce protects the lungs.
So my dinner tonight will be Pizza, beer and a chocolate hot fudge sundae. Sounds healthy to me :S

since last may, after my 24th BCG and all the side effects I had with that, I had to change quite a bit.
First to go was caffeine and regular Ice Tea - stimulant not too good for angry bladder.
Absolutely no wine - thought it would put my angry bladder in a better mood - actually wine made it more angry :woohoo:
I do eat at least two cups of broccoli a week. Also, drink white tea for the anti oxidants, and of course the anti oxdant juices. But other than that, I think I have always had a pretty good diet with lots of vegetables and fruit, fish and little meat.
I think I will go try wine again, maybe my bladder will be a little more receptive

This is all good news.

One beer a day is good for you.
One glass of red wine a day is good for you.
One gin and tonic a day is good for you.

Just don't drive after having one beer, one wine, and one G&T! :)

I also had an RC. Didn't even notice it was posted in the non-invasive section.

I have some of the same issues Pat so I suspect it is the loss of intestine that causes it.

Beer builds bone? Maybe we should should promote tailgating  Problem is beer builds fat too :(

I still have occasional bouts of unexplained diarhea that may last anywhere from a half hour to a day. Best I can tell is it may be related to overeating. It does make me think twice about that 3rd slice of deep dish pizza.

OK this is in non-invasive so i probably don't count as i've lost a bunch of intestine...so my eating habits have changed in that i just don't eat large meals anymore and meat somehow is much more difficult for me to digest. Chocolate is a staple however!!
As for beer.....actually
The folate found in beer may help to reduce homocysteine in the blood and lower homocysteine levels mean a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
Lab studies have found constituents in beer that lower triglycerides and LDL-cholesterol in mice.
Drinking one beer per day reduces blood clotting so some studies found that cardiovascular patients who drank one beer per day also lived longer.
Other studies have found that women who consume one beer each day have improved mental health. Drinking beer and other alcoholic beverages in moderation may also improve bone density.
Now mind you this is ONE beer a day...
