My doctor already faxed the pathology report I had and I asked about mailing her the disc I have of my CT scan and her secretary just said to bring them when I come. I'm worried they won't do much more than talk about things that day, but hoping she will do a cysto and check thing out. Is that normal or am I crazy. I really would feel better if she looked and confirmed since there really isn't much paperwork yet as I'm so new to this.

Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!!!

So glad to hear this!!!! Shandra Wilson is great! Rudy went to her for his surgery.

Pat is right about getting your slides and test results to them. You can bring the slides and ask your doctor to fax all of your other records and test results.

Even though you will see Shandra, they have complete teams that they report each case to.

Let us know how it goes.

YAAAAAYYYYY AGAIN!

Vi..ihope they told you to bring your slides and any CT scans on disc and path reports. They will need all this.
They all operate differently. I know when i went to Memorial Sloan for my second opinion the doctor took one look at my slides and said " Re-Turb"...he scheduled very quickly for me in the following days. It was obviously a horrible specimen.
Memorial at that time was also "out of network" for me but when talking to the finance mgr there he assured me they were working on them and sure enough he got them to sign. But even as "out of network"...i would have had 70% coverage...so maybe you should check with your insurance company to find out what they will pay. I can't imagine them not paying anything towards it? Whats the point of having it at all if major facilities are not covered. I'm sure you could fight this and the Patients Advocacy Network would help you. Bladder cancer is not your run of the mill cancer.
Anyway congrats on getting in to see Shandra. Please let us know what your impressions are.

Vi, don't know what you will hear, but whatever it is you will feel so much better for having done this. If your current course of treatment is validated, you will know you are in good hands. If alternatives are presented, or other options strongly recommended, you will be REALLY glad you did this.

GOOD GIRL!!

Finally got a call back from UCCC and have set up an appointment for next Friday at UCCC with Shaundra Wilson as Patricia suggested.
Right now it is a self pay because we still don't have an authorization from my insurance, but I'm willing to pay. My new family doctor is still working to get them to authorize this. Their reasoning is called "out of network".

Any way... I'm really anxious to go and get some confirmation on what I'm hearing.

Any ideas on what I can expect that day?
