Pat,

You look much younger in the picture than I had imagined. With all the research you've done and wisdom you have, I expected just a bit older. :)

Hope you are continuing to do well.

I know that my first occurrence was CIS only. There was no other tumor. When it came back, a couple years later, the CIS was invisible at first. It showed up in cytology but my uro couldn't see it.

Finally, it did show up, and it appeared to be CIS, but it had also gone deeper and had become invasive into the muscle.

I don't remember the stats, but I recall it was pretty low to have "only" CIS and more frequent to be concomitant with some other primary tumor...

I have not seen that stat. CIS is kind of a misnomer isn't it?
i had it but i also had a invasive papillary tumor growing out of it that was into the muscle....so probably my CIS didn't go into any statistic books!??

I have also read and been told that 2% have CIS. On the good news side is BCG is most effective on CIS. I am always looking for the silver lining

I just finished listening to the multimedia presentation Pat noted under "Articles of Interest" on diagnosis of bladder cancer in women. Came across a stastic I have seen before and wondered about. It states that only 1-2% of bladder cancers are CIS. Is this correct?
