I still get confused sometimes as well with stage/grade etc.

I am hoping he will do Mytomycin when he removes this tumor.

Thanks Mike for the clarification and all the words of encouragement in our emails. Still working on that and hope to get an answer this Thursday.

Fowlair,

I think you may mean "grade" 2 or 3?

Stage 2 or 3 is time for bladder removal, not BCG.

Just want to clarify that so new folks don't get confused. :)

My first tumor was found in Sept 2009. Got an all clear in December and thought I was home free. Then found 2 spots at the 6 months check up. Just had my 2nd TURBT on Mar 22nd. No chemo this time, but uro said if it comes back a 3rd time, then will do intravesical therapy with mitomycin C. I wish he would just go ahead and do it now. It is more for low grade tumors. If the tumor is stage 2 or 3, then BCG is the way to go.

You guys are great at offering the advice that is most needed.

I think for the most part, I am really doing OK. It's only been 6 months since my diagnosis and I am still what I consider a baby at this. However, I do think that all I've read and heard from all of you has made me a "smart" baby. I'm counting on time and experience of cystos and whatever is needed to help me get used to what this cancer means and am trying to be ready for that.

Vi,
I’m like so many of the other BC warriors here, in that we have gone on that emotional rollercoaster that comes with our disease. It seems like reoccurrences come with the disease and it is up to us on how we handle the emotional stress that comes with it. I too echo the sentiments of the others, in that we wish you well and encourage you to keep a level head and educate yourself on our disease. I have found that the more I understand my disease, the less stressed I am when something changes. I’ll add you to my prayer list. Chuck

Sorry to hear your news Vi, keep positive I really do think that a sense of humour & a positive attitude goes a long way in helping our bodies to fight & overcome this (along with the treatment of course!).
My thoughts are with you
