I know there is Mitomycin C. Some people on this site have had great response from that, wsilberstein has been cancer free, I think, for 8 years.
My Uro says there are other options rather than BCG, but I don't think my bladder could take much of anything. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Nix thanks. I know I may have asked this question before and I don't think you will face this, but if the CIS returned would anything else be tried beside a RC?.

I too had a negative fish and cytology and one pathologist showed no return but the biopsy picked up the focal CIS.

See what happens next week.

Thanks Joey

Hi Chuck & Joey
I don't think my bladder would handle anything else, but I guess we will cross that bridge if we get there. I had 24 treatments, but probably would have had more if I could tolerate BCG. Hopefully, my CIS will remain a thing of the past. I do know my CIS was found very early, because one month before I had a FISH test and cytology test and both came back negative. When I had my next cysto - a small spot of CIS was found. I haven't had any re-occurance for 2 1/2 years, but with BC I know it can come back at any time :woohoo:
Joey I know we are on the same schedule so I will be thinking of you and waiting for your report. :)

Hey Nancy & Joey
You all are real veterans at this BCG thing. I’m complaining after nine doses and you are way ahead of me. Am I reading you right, you are doing maintenance? I haven’t made it that far. Since August, I have had two reoccurrences. Hopefully the TURBT in March will show that we have at least put the BC on hold for a while. I’ll be happy to go for the quarterly cysto and maintenance BCG. Nancy, are you at the end of your maintenance for the CIS? Hopefully it is not active again. If you can’t tolerate the BCG, are there any other treatments other than the radical cystectomy? Hang in there and good luck to you both.
Chuck :silly:
