Sandie,

Great news you were able to get an appointment with Dr. Campbell after receiving such terrific advice from Pat. Hope you "click" with Dr. Campbell and become confident in the support team at the Cleveland Clinic. I worked there for many years (not connected at all to urology, though) and know it is a pretty amazing place.

Thank you, Pat, for your suggestions. I made an appt. to see Dr. Campbell on Nov. 16. I'm going to bring some of my slides with me for review as well as the last CAT scan and the last year or so worth of records. If you like, I'll let you know how it goes. Sandie

Sandie...Cleveland is ranked #2 in Urology so yes they have great pathologists and the 2 doctors i gave you are the top ones at Cleveland. I would definately ask for one of them.
Specifically ask for one of them.

I am 2 hours on the east side of Cleveland, so Indianapolis is too far away. Although Dr. Gill has left, do you still think this is a good facility (good pathologists, good lab, good nurses etc)? I don't think I'm looking at a RC right now, but just in case I want to be at a hospital with a doctor I trust.

Sandie...which direction is the 2 hours from Cleveland Clinic? There have been a lot of changes in Urology since Dr. Gill headed to USC/Norris and took his team with him. The 2 that are still there that i would recommend are Stephen Campbell and Andrew Stephenson

If however you can get to Indianapolis just as quickly i would really advise the top uros at IU Medical Center..now part of the Clarion System.....Dr. Koch who invented the Koch pouch (i.e. Indiana pouch)

or Dr. Birhle

Indiana has a great reputation in bladder cancer and all urological cancers.

I am thinking about switching urologists and am looking for recommendations for Cleveland Clinic doctors, specifically ones who have treated people with non-invasive blc. I live about 2 hours from Cleveland. I saw a local urologist for 7 years, then he referred me to a Cleveland doctor (Craig Zippe) a year ago. Zippe had been with Cleveland Clinic for many years but now is with Universty Hospital and I am not comfortable with him or with University Hospital. Any suggestions? Sandie
