I was TA Low Grade. I was not aware T1 could be low grade.
Because when I was initially dx with 3 tumors of which one was large my Uro advised he would like me to try BCG treatments.
I have had 2 early recurrences and 18 weekly BCG treatments and 12 monthly maintenance treatments. I have had 1 FISH test early, and a cytology after each Cysto. A CT scan 1 per year.
I got a 2nd opinion on my slides from a major cancer hospital last year. I am now 22 months cancer free and have my next Cysto in Oct. I have always had a cysto every three months.

The question is interesting as I have never seen a low grade T1. Normally they are Ta if low grade and no other treatment is done as a rule once removed. The T1 would make me want to make sure the pathology was reviewed at a major center, and that I had a second opinion at a major center for piece of mind.

Originally, I was Dx'd with Ta. I have 5 very small tumors and all were papallary Ta. I immediately had a CT Scan. My Uro did just 6 wks BCG, even though he said it doesn't do much with Ta, he said he just wanted to cover all the bases. I still had cystos every three months. for 9 months all was clear. I had all the usual tests, including FISH (at the 6 month mark) and cytology every three months. At the first he said I would this until two year clear. Well, a the 9 month test, I had Ta CIS so all bets were off:ohmy:

Out of curiousity i would like to know how many diagnosed with T1 low grade have just had a TURB and repeat TURB and no other treatment......or what treatment you did have and whether it was at a large cancer center or university that deals with lots of bladder cancer or a local urologist. Did you have CT scans, CT urograms, blood work, FISH tests, cytologies.....whatever and also the frequency of exams.
Thank you so much for any responses.
