Pamela, there's a chat tonight....check the times on the home page....I'll bet you can get some answers there. We had a wake this afternoon, and several people said they planned to be there tonight.

Pamela,

I'm sorry I can't begin to respond to your question, as I never did BCG treatments...by the time I was diagnosed it was necessary to remove the bladder. But you have come to a wonderful website where those who have experience and/or knowledge of this subject will be able to share information. Naturally you are worried and concerned given your husband's situation. You are wise to ask questions and to research because too many of the doctors are too busy to provide all the answers. Stay tuned....I'm certain someone here will be commenting. Take care and try to stay calm...I know it isn' easy. Helpful info and emotional support is one the way. Hugs, Melodie

My husband is currently waiting for a repeat Cysto (January 22nd) following a 2 tumor recurrence at the 3 month check up. He had three BCG treatments - the last one the 3rd week of December. He has been a BCG failure x 2 in the past. Has also had Mitomycin and had recurring tumors at the three month Cysto after that treatment too.

Last weekend he noticed a fair amount of blood in the toilet after a bowel movement. His doctor ordered a CT scan and he had a physical exam and hemorroids and diverticulitis were ruled out. His doctor also feels that it is not a fissure based on his physical exam. He has consistantly had blood in the toilet after each bowel movment along with abdominal pain located at belly button level. His blood work on this past Wednesday was stable as far as determining he had not lost enough blood to be in a danger zone.

He is scheuled for a colonoscopy in the morning. During his bowel prep today each and every bathroom trip was accompanied by blood.

As you can imagine my question is - can this be colon cancer? Has anyone else had this happen while fighting bladder cancer?

I know no one can predict what is wrong with him but I guess I need some support as I am scared to death that the cancer has spread. I was told the doctor performing the test will speak with me immedicatley after. Can anyone help me with what questions I should ask?
Sorry so long but I am so scared for him.

Thank you
Pamela
