Hi Susan

My last Turb, which was my 3rd had 3 tumors, and it took me about 4 weeks to completely recover. Good luck with the BCG, hopefully the treatments scare those darn tumors away forever.

Slabman,

My Uro always made me use a cat for 5-7 days after the Turb. I hated that dam thing too. When my urine was 100% clean, he would then have the nurse remove it. He told me he was being cautious, but wanted to ensure their were no blockages.

FWIW...My Uro left the catheter in for a full week after the TURB.... He said 3-4 days is more normal, but he's found the healing is better if you don't subject the bladder to too much work too quickly after the procedure. I seem to remember a quick and easy healing process, however, it was a real PAIN keeping that thing in there the extra few days. A REAL PAIN!!!!!!

How long are others leaving their catheters in?

I found it took longer to heal my last time as well. That was my 5th TURB. I think its harder to heal the more work you have done. I also can say thats how I feel "bladder twinges/spasms" when I empty my bladder. It got better slowly but it did get better. About 4 weeks I would say.

Hang in there. You are doing great.

Well, he ended up finding 4 not 2 tumors :(
More extensive work done in there than i thought i would get. Taking kind of long to heal this time. Is that about normal?
Has been less than 2 weeks , and no pain, just feels like sort of a spasm at the end of urinating. Slowly getting better. The tumors were right close to the ureter he said, and I am thinking that might be a reason that it is healing slower and causing more of that urgency to go feeling.

I was more tired this time too. Is that because more was done? Today I had a lot more energy, and feel good other than the bladder short little spasms .

No date set for me yet for BCG but he said this month . YUCK , I still hate it, but what will be wil be I guess.

i hope you all are doing well
