INTRON® A is indicated as adjuvant to surgical treatment in patients 18 years or older with malignant melanoma who are free of disease but at high risk for systemic recurrence, within 56 days of surgery.

Tony, my Doc wasn't surprise when he found out that I had a recurrence and he told me that about 80% of patients have had a recurrence but he was surprised why my other DOC who did the first TURB didn't put me on BCG , he thought it was possible because I had ta noninvasive tumor ,so after my second TURB done he put me on BCG+INTRONE treatment 7 courses ,then BCG alone 6 courses ,I had no reaction for the first 7 but I had very bad reaction for BCG alone and the DOC said it is good sign to have reaction that mean the medication is work !!
I don't know ?
any way they recommend to use the combination BCG+INTRON if you have a recurrence .I can give you a web about that if you want .

It is not inevitable that the cancer comes back. Without trying to reduce it to statistics, because everyone is different i.e. size, grade, genes, reaction to treatment etc etc. Most studies I have read we have a better than 50/50 chance of staying free.
