To further satisfy my curiosity on this subject, I shot Dr. Lamm an Email and received and answer last evening, just in time for a consultation with my Uro today. He confirms "BCG can cause pain and swelling of joints and can be a limiting side effect of BCG." But he goes on to say in his study it occurred in less than one percent of patients. (Guess most of them are on this board, including me and Ms. Rosy who wants to be a redhead again.)
Now my Doc had me scheduled to take another round of BCG (#13-15) at the 9 month interval and I wanted to discuss this with him in light of the arthritic and other reactions I have been having. His thought was that since I had a G3 tumor he wanted to be as aggressive as possible with this. But Dr. Lamm specifically says a 9 month series can reduce efficacy, which I pointed out to my Doc. So, bottom line is my Doc has deferred to our good Dr. Lamm on this and will do my next round on the 12 month schedule many on this board are doing. Gee, if I later come up with disasterous results, guess who will be second-guessing himself?
This fits into the category of "Be careful of what you ask for, because...."
