Just came from my first cysto since having TURBT (July) for recurrence, followed by 6 weeks of BCG (August-September). ALL CLEAR. (My urologist, who's Indian, actually says "it's clean" and not "all clear," but whatever the words, it's good to hear.) I was being my usual optimistic self, and wasn't expecting otherwise, but am still happy. I'd have a glass of wine to celebrate, but my husband had to go to a meeting and won't be home until later this evening, and I have to go to a choral rehearsal tonight.

They had to change my appointment from Friday (Hallowe'en) to today, so my husband wasn't able to accompany me as he usually does, due to a very hectic schedule. However, I was glad to have it over earlier, as I had only 3 days to think about it.

My schedule for 2009 is slightly out of kilter, as the 6 weeks of BCG kind of complicated things. They explained to me that normally they like to do a cysto before the BCG (a week before), so we decided to start the clock with the new year; this will mean that the 3 week round of maintenance BCG will start several weeks past the 3 month end of the initial round of BCG, but from there on things should go on schedule.

Wishing you all to hear the same happy words at your next check-up.

Ann
