Final clearpoint?

I know of a woman in my hometown who was clear for 10 years. Her BLC came back with a vengeance and she had to have a radical cystectomy at the age of 70. The good news is that she is doing very well.

I don't mean to burst any one's bubble, but with this disease, you will neer be able to rest on your laurels...

Never....

For what it's worth, I'll be clean for 3 years (not a recurrance since Dx)
if I make it to January...

Happy Friday everybody!!

My history might help Jack...

Apr 05..TURBC w/mitomycin (pathology follows) TA G1 (???)
........ Low grade Papillary Urothelial Carcinoma
........ No extension into lamina propia is present
........ Detrusor muscle is present and is negative for tumor

Oct 06..TURBC w/mitomycin (pathology follows) TA G1 (???)
........Low grade Papillary Urothelial carcinoma
........Extension into the lamina propia is not apparent
........No detrusor muscle is present in the biopsy

Oct 06... took 5 of 6 mitomycin insertions.. too irritated for 6th
May 07... took 2 of 3 mitomycin insertions.. too irritated for 3rd

Had routine 3 month cystos during that period.
Aug 07, Dec 07, Mar 08, Sep 08 all clear cystos...

Now on 6 month cysto schedule... but who knows.. my uro says 5 years is the final clear point.. so I just keep moving along.. living life as if there is no problem.. :woohoo:

Best of luck to Jack...

This is a question from Jack.

He was dxed with TCC Ta G3 in 2006. Since then he has not had a recurrence and has undergone BCG and maintenance and is situated with an Urologist that he trusts. The question was have we ever heard of anyone that has never had a reassurance? The emotional roller coaster of rechecks and waiting for the other shoe to drop is wearing on him, he is very worried about progression. Could some of you share your stories and help him put all this in perspective with thoughts on how you handle the ups and downs of non invasive blc?
