Well, one down and two to go...this time. This one was the easiest yet. I had the usual uncomfortable afternoon, but yesterday I felt great and still do today. Keeping fingers crossed!!

If you don't mind me playing Devil's Advocate... I wasn't so lucky. BCG's started becoming intolerable for me about the 9th treatment, but up to that point it hadn't been too bad.

...I didn't see it coming, either. No one told me. It might have been that my Doctor just didn't know how bad it was going to get. He told me that after having treated over 150 patients with BCG, I was the only one of the bunch who had a bad response. And, the bad response came late in treatment, too.

It would have been nice if I could have seen it coming....

Sara Anne, I hope you get to take the full protocol!! My best guess is that you will do fine.

Best,
Ro

Sara Anne, I am a little ahead of you, with my second cysto coming in a couple weeks. I can tell you my 2nd round of BCG was a piece of cake and, in fact, was even easier then the initial 6 treatments. I don't fear the remaining maint. rounds at all, but the subsequent cystos are a lot more concern. So hang in there. Chances are as good as not you'll be just fine.

It would appear that I have some "googling" to do. If I find anything regarding this "controversy," I'll let you all know. If I don't find anything, I'll be having a little chat with my uro. Thanks.

SaraAnn--

You and I are definitely on the same wave length here! (And, as I mentioned in another post, I'm following along behind you on my BCG schedule.)

Small TA Grade 1, May-06; recur (2 tiny), same, June-08; TURBTs both times. BCG begun July-08, dosage to 1/3rd May-10, completed treatment December-11. All clear since 2008.
