Rosemary, I could not be happier for you! Congrats! You are right - you are the one with the cancer - you have to speak up for yourself. Now you know your Uro's view.
Go celebrate!

Hey friends!

For those who might need a little encouragement right now and also to give an update, today I had a clean cysto at the 2 year 6 months recurrance free mark.

The Doc says that he wants to continue to do the NMP22 at my cysto visits, and really he could bring me back at a yearly interval, but he wasn't that comfortable with yearly visits just yet because I didn't finish with the BCG Maintenance protocol (because of severe arthritic reaction.)

I told him that my Rheumologist suggested that we try the Methotrexate along with BCG, but the Doc got a look on his face, and said he WAS NOT a fan of Methotrexate (fine with me at $1500 a pop), so he would rather take the small risk of BLC recurrance, than the high risk of Methotrexate reaction...

Evidently, both Docs are Duke Grads, they know each other and they have discussed this before. I hope I didn't step on my Urologist toes with this, but, I am the one with the cancer, and I feel that I'm allowed to look into my own options:side:

Heck, I guess I should just be happy that I had a clean cysto, and not have to worry so much about my Doctor's feelings...

Right???:S
