what you may not know about CIS and diagnosis

Make sure they do a cytology EVERY time. My cysto is still clear (had three in the last two months) but my cytologies showed that it is not only back but also moved to the kidneys.

I think it is standard protocol to do cytologies each time, but it is better to be sure and talk to your uro about it to confirm.

The last two cystos showed this "red splotch". No biopsies have been done, just watching. Had to take a break from bc to have my prostate biopsied (negative thank you). Last cysto was last week and another round of 3 BCG's for August. Then we'll look at the little red devil then. The problem to me is the red area is not where the TURB was performed. Thanks for asking

Tommy, I know what you mean. Has any of the cysto's revealed cis?

Pat, thanks for the link for CIS. Since my TURB in 10/06, oddly I get more anxious about a neagative Cysto with CIS than a recurrence of a papillary tumor. Might be from URO stating "everything looks good, just a small red blotch" But thanks, you are always make me laugh, and you're a good resercher too by the way. See you around
