We all choose our own path, and we can believe in any modality we choose to.

So I'll wish you well on your journey, but just so you have all sides of the issue, you may wish to read about Dr. Mercola on Quackwatch ( www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/mercola.html ) and how the FDA has ordered him several times to quit making illegal claims. He sells many products on his website that make questionable claims, including one that "help to virtually eliminate your risk of developing cancer in the future." To me, that just does not pass the smell test.

Kevin Trudeau, of course, is a convicted felon with criminal convictions in the early 1990s for fraud and larceny.

I read a lot of integative medicine artices and I have read that a lot. One source on the internet that you can read is Dr. Joseph Mercola's website mercola.com. The article you need to access is "Counting the Many Ways Sugar Harms Your Health" or you can put sugar and cancer in the search box. Other places I have read this is the book "How to Fight Cancer and Win" and Kevin Trudeau's book "Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About". I can give you more sources if you are interested. No, my doctor did not mention this but all your hear from the conventional medical community is traditional treatments. I believe in these but I want to do all possible to get rid of this cancer. That is why I am exploring all avenues.

Balihigh--did you hear this from your oncologist, or did you read it on a website?

The term "cancer" came from was coined by Hippocrates as "karkinoma" (carcinoma) because a tumor looked like a "crab" ("karkinoma" is Greek for "crab").

I don't think the ancient Greeks had access to white sugar.

Granted, excess sugar may not be good for you, but please ask your doctor or oncologist directly, "Does sugar feed cancer?" I'm interested in the reply.

I haven't done much posting because I haven't had much experience with this monster BC. I do want to report that I was clean on my first scope after 12 BCG + interferon treatments. Of course I will continue to follow up every 3 months to make sure I continue on the right track. This site and Inspire have been so helpful to me and I wanted to thank you all. I read everyday and have learned so much. While the doctor was talking to me, I could even finish his sentences for him since I feel I have a lot of knowledge now. I was not even too anxious waitning for the results because I knew that even if I had a return that it was not the end of the world. Many of you have been there and you have helped me with me fears.

My concern now is how to stay cancer free. I am during much of what I have read others are doing. I am eating much healthier and am trying, my biggest hurdle, to do away with sugar. I love fruits and vegs so that is no problem but I seem to crave sugar. I know that sugar feeds cancer and it should be eliminated. I eat all the healthy stuff but I still want my ice cream, cake, pie, etc. I am taking several supplements that are recommended and exercising and so forth. I have never smoked so I don't have that problem.

I know that something caused this cancer in the first place so how do I find out and try to remedy the situation? I do lots of reading and there are theories out there. Anyone have tricks up their sleeves?
