thanks pat and julie! i didn't mean to imply that cis was not serious at all...nor did my uro idicate so....i guess just calling it a "precancer" condition rather than a tumor was a bit more "comforting" to ME...sigh...thanks though for the info...it's really MUCH appreciated!...gina
julie..your suggestion to get a new uro also is something i've thought about...she doesn't seem to use the terms used here and elsewhere on the net...i think she may be trying to "soften the blow" for me...as you all can tell i am sure...this whole diagnosis has me scared out of my mind!...i need to tell her to lay it all on the line..i want to know EVERYTHING....also, being that i am having my 3rd bcg treatment on monday...when would i go for a second opinion?...should i already have done it?...thanks gina

Gina, CIS in the Bladder is Carcinoma in Situ and is different than CIS in any other setting, In the Bladder it is serious, high grade and needs to be monitored closely. It is hard to detect as it is flat to the lining of the bladder and almost invisible to the eye. Get another urologist.
